Highlights from the MediTrust Health Accelerate 2025 | Care2Pay Platform Progress to the New Stage

On May 20, MediTrust Health, an innovation venture incubated by Shanghai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., successfully hosted its 2025 Industry Ecosystem Partnership Conference. At the center of attention was the latest upgrade of the Care2Pay platform, a flagship solution that represents MediTrust Health’s continuous innovation in reshaping the commercial insurance payment experience.

At the event, Gong Qiao, Chief Product Officer of MediTrust Health, officially announced the platform’s major upgrade, positioning Care2Pay as the first stop for healthcare payments in China. It’s believed by Gong Qiao that “Upon upgrade, the Care2Pay platform is more than a claims tool—it is an industry-level reform solution and an intelligent connector for healthcare services. It builds an advanced health protection network and reshapes the patient journey of seeking care and medications. The goal is to maximize the value of advanced healthcare and innovative pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and ultimately, to maximize healthcare accessibility.”

It’s reported that the upgraded platform not only enables a “treatment first, payment later” model for commercial insurance users, but also introduces new features such as real-time policy balance inquiry and claim tracking. It continues to expand its service network across healthcare providers and pharmaceutical services to offer users more convenient and professional support. By creating personal health profiles and developing a commercial insurance identity tagging system, the platform supports whole-course health management, helping meet growing demand for access to new technologies and innovative therapies. Aggregating payment sources beyond medical insurance, the Diversified Payment Solutions Section of Care2Pay has fully launched its cross-payment “Blended Payment” feature, enabling users to seamlessly unlock a wide array of payment solutions through a one-stop service. A particularly notable highlight was the debut of “xiaofu”, an AI-powered assistant that “achieves mastery of both medicine and insurance”. Built on MediTrust Health’s mind42.ai intelligent core, xiaofu integrates vast pharmaceutical and insurance data to offer users a range of smart services—from drug information and disease education, to payment methods, insurance policy interpretation, and claims navigation—making access to healthcare and insurance simpler and more professional than ever.

The ongoing upgrade of the Care2Pay platform represents a panoramic display of MediTrust Health’s long-term investment in building a robust network of quality healthcare and pharmaceutical services, as well as a fully integrated commercial health insurance service system. Last year, Alipay partnered with Taikang Online and MediTrust Health to launch the Commercial Insurance Code, pioneering a “basic medical insurance + commercial insurance” one-stop synchronized settlement model. A representative from Alipay noted, “We look forward to deepening our collaboration with MediTrust Health to further enhance the convenience of commercial health insurance services and to actively support the national initiative for building a multi-tiered healthcare system.”
